Even for a silly story like this one, one can’t help but think how utterly troublesome it is to expose yourself to so much of the world, even with all of that power one posses…Since, after all, there’s a limit as to how much a normal guy can take in. This scenario dumps a LOT of responsibility on the MC, and who here wants to deal with that level of responsibility? (child rearing, fixing up systemic problems…Jesus)
Taking in a little girl like that, how can one just say: “ah, no, she can go fuck herself, I don’t care~” ? There’re probably no child-support services to speak of, like proper orphanages, other than the one the nekomimi peep works at. But that one is just as shitty as any other solution, and it requires the MC to actively work for a systemic solution to fix one thing or another so he can rest easy.

Help the orphanage raise enough funds to support itself, and make sure the children can grow up to be financially and socially independent.
Help the kids personally, take them under his wings.
Find some people who are willing to do all of that work for him, as a favor….It doesn’t end.

Even if you have a shit ton of power and personal might, it’s nothing before systemic problems. It requires a lot of personal investment, and I can easily see how 90% of everyone who are reading these sort of things would not want to have anything to do with taking that much responsibility, which would at large go against the point of these escapist, fantastical stories.
